Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026

This policy explains how Media Icons Limited (trading as Media Icons Africa), of Lagos, Nigeria ("we", "us"), collects and uses personal data when you watch Asiko TV, visit our websites, or contact us. It covers asiko.africa, asiko.live, mediaiconsafrica.com, fastonafrica.com, the Asiko TV apps, and our other channels and services that link to it (together, the "Services").

We are the data controller. We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and, where they apply to you, the UK GDPR and EU GDPR.

1. What we collect

When you watch. You do not need an account to watch Asiko TV. To deliver the stream, our streaming and delivery providers receive your IP address, device and browser type, and the requests your player makes. We do not use this to identify you.

When you contact us or sign up. If you enquire about advertising, list a channel, apply as a creator, request a test run, or send us a message, we collect what you give us: your name, email, phone number, company or channel name, country, links to your content, files you upload (such as logos or reels), and your message.

When you message us on WhatsApp or by email. We receive your number or address and what you send. WhatsApp and email providers process these messages under their own terms.

When we do business together. For partners, advertisers and suppliers we keep contact details, contracts, invoices and payment records.

We do not ask for sensitive data (such as health, religion or political views), and we ask you not to send it.

2. How we use it, and our legal basis

We do not sell personal data. We do not make decisions about you by automated means alone that have legal or similarly significant effects.

3. Cookies and storage on your device

asiko.africa saves a few small settings in your browser, such as the last channel and category you chose. These stay on your device.

Counting viewers. To count how many people watch and for how long, the player also creates a random ID in your browser. While a channel is playing on your screen, once a minute it sends us that ID and the channel you are watching. When you open the site it also sends, once, the ID with a few general details: the website or link that brought you, your device's time zone (which tells us roughly which country you are in), your language setting, and the type of device, operating system and browser. The ID does not contain your name, and we do not link it to your IP address or to anything else that identifies you. We use it only to count visitors, viewers and minutes watched, per channel, per country and per day, and we share only totals with advertisers and partners. Clearing your browser data deletes the ID; the player will then make a new one.

We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party tracking on our websites. If we add analytics or advertising that needs your consent, we will ask first and update this policy.

When advertising starts on Asiko TV, ads will be inserted into the stream on our servers. Choosing and counting ads may use your IP address and device type, which we will use only in aggregated or non-identifying form. Where the law requires consent for this, we will ask for it.

6. How long we keep it

After that we delete the data or make it anonymous.

7. Security

We use access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS), protected video delivery, secret keys kept out of our code, and limited staff access.
